How to Create a Custom Apple Watch Face from a Single Photo or a Photo Album

The Apple Watch allows you to customize and add watch faces. You can also use any photo (or album) from your phone as a background for a watch face with the time and date. Photos must be transferred to your watch to be used for watch faces.
First, we’ll show you how to create a watch face using a single photo. Then, we’ll show you how to create a watch face using the photo album that’s synced on your watch. When you use the photo album as a watch face, every time you raise your wrist to view the watch face, a different photo in the album displays.
To create a photo from a single photo, access the watch’s home screen. You may have to press the digital crown several times. Once you see the home screen, tap the “Photos” icon (a multicolored flower).
The photos in the album on the watch display as small thumbnails. Tap the photo you want to use as a watch face.

Force touch on the photo.
Tap the “Create Watch Face” icon.

The time and date is automatically added to the photo. Notice, however, that the photo may not be positioned or zoomed correctly. To adjust the photo, force touch the watch face again.

On the watch selector screen, tap “Customize”.
Turn the digital crown to zoom in and out on the photo and crop or pan the image. If you zoom out completely, the other photos in the album will display and you can select a different photo if you want to.
Once you’ve adjusted the photo to your liking (or selected and adjusted a different photo), press the digital crown. The newly adjusted photo displays as the background of the watch face with the time and date.

To use the photo album on the watch as a dynamic watch face, return to the watch face if it’s not displaying and force touch the screen. Swipe left until you get to “New” on the watch selector screen (all the way to the right). Tap the plus icon to create a new watch face.

Swipe either right or left (depending on which watch face was previously selected) until you reach the “Photo Album” watch face. Tap on the photo to select the “Photo Album” watch face.

Now, every time you raise your wrist or press the digital crown to view the watch face, a different photo in your album displays on the watch face.

You can download various images designed to be used as watch faces on the Apple Watch fromApple Faces. Just remember that you must add any photos you want to use to the one photo album that is synced to your watch from your iPhone.
